Growth: Slow
Light: Full sun for best color, tolerates a little light shade
Soil: Adaptable to almost any soil (sand to clay, including alkaline), as long as drainage is decent — doesn't like standing water
Central Missouri: Hardy for the cold (rated to zone 3, sometimes listed to zone 7/8) so winter isn't a concern here; the more relevant regional caveat is that blue spruce cultivars generally are prone to needle cast and canker diseases in Missouri's humid summers, more so than in their native drier climates — good air circulation and avoiding wet feet help
